Allied Blenders Shares Rise Over 5% After SBI Mutual Fund, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority Buy Stake
Bina Kishore Chhabria, a promoter of Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited, divested nearly 2% of the company’s equity for ₹357 crore through an open‑market transaction on Wednesday. The bulk‑deal data on the BSE shows he sold 55 lakh shares, representing a 1.96% stake, at an average price of ₹650.17 each, valuing the transaction at ₹357.59 crore.
Following the sale, Allied Blenders and Distillers shares climbed as high as 5.11% to an intraday peak of ₹691 on the BSE. The rally was supported by purchases from SBI Mutual Fund, which bought 34 lakh shares, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, which acquired just over 15 lakh shares at an average price of ₹650 each.
After the transaction, Chhabria’s stake in Allied Blenders fell to 56.24% from 58.20%. The combined shareholding of promoters and promoter‑group entities also declined, moving from 80.91% to 78.95%. The total value of the combined deals reached ₹318.77 crore. The sale was executed through a bulk‑deal on the BSE, with shares priced at ₹650.17 each.
Allied Blenders and Distillers reported an 18.65% year‑on‑year decline in consolidated net profit for the June quarter of FY27, falling to ₹45.42 crore from ₹55.83 crore in the same period a year earlier. Nevertheless, revenue from operations increased 1.84% to ₹1,809.15 crore, up from ₹1,776.37 crore year‑ago. The company attributed the profit dip to disruptions in the global supply chain.
At 11:47 a.m., Allied Blenders and Distillers shares were trading 5.08% higher at ₹688, while the NIFTY50 index was down nearly 1%. The stock’s performance reflects the impact of the institutional purchases and the promoter’s divestment on the market.
