Transrail Lighting Shares Rally 17% as Conductor Capacity Expands to 40,800 km/Ann

Transrail Lighting shares surged 17 % on Tuesday, September 22, reaching an intraday high of ₹483.70 each as the company announced a significant expansion of its conductor manufacturing capacity. The jump followed the disclosure that the firm has completed phase 1 of a brownfield expansion at its Silvassa site, boosting production capability from 24,000 km per annum to 40,800 km per annum. The rally reflected investor optimism about the expanded capacity and its potential to meet growing transmission and distribution demand.

Phase 1 of the Silvassa expansion has been finished, raising Transrail’s conductor output to 40,800 km per year. The company also announced that it is progressing with phase 2, which will further enhance capacity and ultimately double the original 24,000 km figure. The expansion is positioned as a milestone that will strengthen execution efficiencies and enable the firm to cater to an expanding market for high‑strength conductors across its global operations.

Randeep Narang, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said the expansion marks a significant milestone in strengthening the company’s conductor manufacturing capabilities, enhancing its execution efficiencies and capacity to cater to growing markets. He highlighted that the increased capacity will allow Transrail to meet rising demand in the transmission and distribution sector and support its long‑term growth strategy. The announcement came after the company secured fresh orders worth ₹1,034 crore in Q1 FY27 and added L1 orders of approximately ₹400 crore, boosting its unexecuted order book to ₹16,035 crore as of June 30 2026.
