L&T Shares Rise Over 1% After Securing Mega-Order Wins for Power Transmission & Distribution
Shares of the multi‑industry conglomerate L&T jumped over 1% on Monday morning after the company announced securing multiple orders for its Power Transmission & Distribution business. The shares opened at ₹3,717 apiece and hit an intraday high of ₹3,745 apiece on the NSE on Monday. The shares have remained largely subdued in 2026, delivering –9.7% on a YTD basis. This performance follows a period of modest gains amid broader market volatility.
The company secured 380 kV transmission and substation projects for its PT&D business in Saudi Arabia. The project is expected to augment the power transmission capacity of Saudi Arabia, facilitating renewable energy evacuation and integrating it into the energy grid. Similarly, the company secured another order from the United Arab Emirates for the construction of 132/11 kV substations and associated cabling works. Lastly, in the domestic market, it has secured an order from a private sector developer for setting up a transmission system in Visakhapatnam.
At the consolidated level, these orders form a mega‑order win for the company worth ₹10,000–₹15,000 crore. Commenting on the order win, Mr Joji Sebastian, Executive Vice President & Head – PT&D, L&T, said: “These order wins demonstrate the breadth of PT&D’s engineering and execution capabilities and the ability to deliver complex power infrastructure solutions across geographies. With the growing demand for grid strengthening, renewable energy integration, and associated infrastructure, we are leveraging our technology, project execution expertise, and global presence to deliver value for our esteemed clients.”
Earlier in September, the company secured twin contracts in Dubai for its infrastructure vertical. The company secured one large and one significant order from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai for the development of the Latifa Bint Hamdan Corridor. Similarly, the company also secured another large order from ONGC for its Hydrocarbon business. The exchange filing read, “L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore) has secured a large offshore order from the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for the Additional Development of Ratna–I (ADR I) and NLM-14 project off India’s west coast.”
As of Q2FY27, the total order book of L&T is expected to be approximately around ₹8.3 lakh crore. This figure reflects the cumulative value of all signed contracts across the company’s diverse business segments, including Power Transmission & Distribution, Infrastructure, and Hydrocarbon. The growth in the order book is driven by the company’s expanding project pipeline and its ability to secure large‑scale contracts in both domestic and international markets.
