Dilip Buildcon Shares Rise 3.5% After Securing ₹1,800 Crore LPG Pipeline Order

On Wednesday, 7 October, Dilip Buildcon Limited’s shares climbed as much as 3.5% to an intraday high of ₹415.2 per share after the company disclosed that it had received a Grant of Authorisation from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). The authorisation permits Dilip Buildcon, through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) in which it holds 100% equity, to lay, build, operate or expand an LPG pipeline from Paradip in Odisha to Raipur in Chhattisgarh. Valued at ₹1,800 crore, the exclusive licence enables the firm to develop, finance, construct and operate the pipeline infrastructure.

The PNGRB licence also allows the authorised entity to levy and collect tariffs for LPG transportation up to the designated delivery point for an operation period of 25 years, following a three‑year construction phase. Dilip Buildcon will be responsible for design, financing, development, construction, operation and maintenance of the pipeline, subject to all applicable approvals, authorisations and regulatory requirements of the PNGRB. The pipeline is intended to move LPG to bottling plants of various oil marketing companies, replacing existing road‑based tanker transport and enhancing road safety.

Revenue will be generated through the applicable petroleum and petroleum products pipeline transportation tariff for LPG moved through the pipeline. The company clarified that, while it will develop and operate the LPG pipeline infrastructure and provide transportation services, it will not engage in procurement, trading, distribution or sale of LPG, nor bear any commercial risks related to LPG procurement and marketing. The pipeline will also function as a common carrier under the PNGRB framework, allowing eligible oil marketing companies and other users to access its capacity.

At 1:03 PM on 7 October, Dilip Buildcon shares were trading at ₹407.45 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.66% from the previous close. Since the start of the year the stock has fallen 14%, while over the past month it has gained 4%. The shares previously hit a 52‑week high of ₹538.2 on 5 October 2025 and a 52‑week low of ₹381.55 on 24 July 2026. In related news, L&T’s arm secured a major order worth up to ₹10,000 crore for thermal power plants in Jharkhand, and Cupid shares surged 30% in six sessions, highlighting broader market activity.

According to NSE data as of 7 October 2026, Dilip Buildcon’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹6,618.81 crore. The announcement of the ₹1,800 crore LPG pipeline order from PNGRB is a material development, providing a long‑term revenue stream through tariff collection over a 25‑year operational period. The project’s scope, exclusive licence and the company’s full equity stake in the SPV underscore its strategic importance and are likely to influence future investor interest and trading dynamics.
