Lenskart Shares Drop 5% as Alpha Wave Ventures Block Deal Rumours Surface

Lenskart Solutions shares fell as much as 5 % to ₹643.75 apiece in early trade on Monday, October 12, after CNBC‑TV18 reported that Alpha Wave Ventures LP was looking to sell a stake in the eyewear retailer through a block deal. The proposed transaction would involve the sale of up to a 1.6 % stake, valued at around ₹966 crore, with an additional option to sell another 0.7 % stake worth ₹725 crore. The total potential deal size would be ₹1,691 crore, with a floor price of ₹640 per share. No official confirmation from the company was available at the time of writing.

In September 2026, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) pared its stake in Lenskart Solutions, selling shares worth ₹2,390 crore through an open‑market transaction. ADIA, through its affiliate Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust, sold 3.5 crore shares, representing a 2.01 % stake in the Gurugram‑based eyewear retailer, according to bulk‑deal data on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The shares were sold at an average price of ₹683.02 apiece, taking the total transaction value to ₹2,390.57 crore. Following the sale, ADIA’s stake declined to 7.76 % from 9.77 %, remaining the company’s second‑largest public shareholder after SoftBank.

Earlier in June 2026, Japanese technology investor SoftBank Group sold a 3.25 % stake in Lenskart Solutions for ₹2,873 crore. This sale followed a series of stake sales by existing investors in the company, adding to the recent liquidity movements. The 3.25 % stake represented a substantial portion of SoftBank’s holdings in the company, and the ₹2,873 crore proceeds were earmarked for strategic investments. The transaction further reduced SoftBank’s ownership, although it remains a significant shareholder.
