Ircon International Secures ₹862.46 Crore EPC Order, Shares Drop 41% YTD

Ircon International has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work order worth ₹862.46 crore from the East Central Railway. The award, announced in a regulatory filing, covers supply of ballast and P.Way materials, laying and linking of track works, and other miscellaneous works for a 32.5‑ton axle load on the Gomoh‑Koderma section (Rly km 300.15 to 393.68, DHN Division) and the Gaya‑Son Nagar section (Rly km 475.200 to 542.075, DDU Division). The contract also includes supply of various P.Way materials at Gaya under Dy. CE/Con/Gaya for the construction of the 3rd and 4th lines of the Son Nagar‑Andal Project.

In a separate regulatory filing dated October 9, Ircon International disclosed that it had been awarded a work order by the Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd for ₹96.25 crore. The order covers the comprehensive annual maintenance of the integrated tunnel communication system, including the IP‑based video surveillance system, public address system, emergency communication system, and networking backbone system installed in the Katra‑Banihal section of the Northern Railway. The maintenance contract spans five years and applies to tunnels, bridges and stations within that section.

Ircon International reported a 43.6% year‑on‑year decline in its consolidated net profit to ₹93 crore for the first quarter of the 2026‑27 financial year (Q1 FY27), compared with the year‑ago period. Consolidated revenue from operations rose 9.5% year‑on‑year to ₹1,956 crore. The company’s financial performance in the quarter reflects a modest revenue increase despite the profit contraction, as disclosed in its regulatory filing. Additionally, the filing noted that the company had received the Konkan Railway order earlier in the month.

On Monday, October 13, Ircon International’s share closed 0.16% higher at ₹104.73 per equity share on the National Stock Exchange. The order win was announced after the market closed. In the past week the scrip fell 2%, and over the month it has dropped more than 7%. Year‑to‑date, the stock has fallen 41%. The 52‑week low was ₹186.44 on December 26, 2025, while the year’s low was ₹101.60 on September 29, 2026.

As of October 12, 2026, Ircon International’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹9,850.02 crore according to NSE data. The company’s recent contract wins and financial results are reflected in its share price movements, but investors should note the significant year‑to‑date decline and the company’s lower profit margin in Q1 FY27.
