Vikran Engineering Shares Surge 15% After IREDA Loan Secures Solar EPC Order

Vikran Engineering shares surged 15% on Tuesday, October 13, as investors reacted to the company’s subsidiary securing a ₹2,941.19 crore loan from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA). The loan is earmarked to partially finance the development of a 969 MWac/1,163 MWp solar photovoltaic power project under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY) Scheme across Maharashtra. The funding will support the project’s estimated cost of ₹4,201.70 crore, with the remaining outlay to be covered by promoters and other sources.

The subsidiary, NOPL Solar Projects Pvt. Ltd., a wholly‑owned unit of Vikran Engineering, entered into a facility agreement with IREDA to avail the rupee term loan. The company stated, "We hereby inform you that NOPL Solar Projects Pvt. Ltd., a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Vikran Engineering, entered into a facility agreement with Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) for availing a rupee term loan facility." As a result, Vikran Engineering was awarded an EPC order to construct the 969‑MW solar project for a consideration of ₹3,517.98 crore.

During the trading session, Vikran Engineering shares rallied to an intraday high of ₹64, up from ₹55.66 at the previous close. Trading activity surpassed 4.9 crore equity shares, a more than 67‑fold increase over the one‑week average of 7,34,798 shares. The high‑volume gains were triggered as the activity significantly outperformed the past two‑week average of 14,45,144 shares, according to exchange data.

At noon, the shares were trading 12% higher at approximately ₹62.38, after retracting some of the early market gains. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹1,608.59 crore as of the trading session on Tuesday, October 12, 2026. Vikran Engineering’s shares have lost 39% of their value in the past one‑year period and were down 38.7% on a year‑to‑date basis in 2026.

In the near term, the company’s stock was up nearly 8% in the last one‑month and was trading 5.9% higher in the last five market sessions. Vikran Engineering was listed on the stock exchange on September 3, 2025, and had earlier surged to its 52‑week high of ₹118.40 on November 20, 2025, while the 52‑week low was ₹51.10 on March 30, 2026.

The IREDA loan, amounting to ₹2,941.19 crore, will be used to partially fund the total outlay of ₹4,201.70 crore for the solar project. NOPL will finance the remaining amount through contributions from promoters and other sources in line with the company’s financing plans. The loan and EPC order together underpin Vikran Engineering’s strategic expansion into renewable energy infrastructure in Maharashtra.
