Bajaj Consumer Care Q2 FY27: Profit and EBITDA Surge Amid Rising Raw Material Costs
Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd announced its earnings for the July‑September quarter of the 2026‑27 financial year (Q2 FY27) on Wednesday, 12 October. The FMCG company reported a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of ₹70.15 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up 65.9% year‑on‑year from ₹42.29 crore in the same period last year. Total revenue from operations rose 25.5% to ₹332.83 crore, compared with ₹265.26 crore in Q2 FY26. EBITDA climbed 71% to ₹83.3 crore, up from ₹48.7 crore in the preceding fiscal year.
The company highlighted that raw material prices remained elevated during the quarter. Light liquid paraffin (LLP) prices stayed high due to the ongoing West Asia conflict and increased global freight costs. Refined mustard oil (RMO) prices were also high, reflecting price hikes in other edible oils as the Middle East conflict disrupted oilseed supply chains. Copra prices rose in Q2 in anticipation of the impact of El Niño in Q3, with a broader rise in the edible oil basket pushing rates higher.
Almond Drops Hair Oil (ADHO) domestic business continued its robust momentum, delivering revenue growth of more than 30% in Q2 FY27 and in the first half of the fiscal year (H1 FY27). The growth was supported by strong double‑digit unit volume growth. Price‑point packs continued to outperform and remained a key growth engine, growing ahead of the portfolio growth, the company said in its investor presentation. The strong performance of ADHO contributed to the overall revenue growth and reinforced the company's strategy to focus on premium segments.
The growth portfolio sustained strong momentum and continued to scale meaningfully while improving profitability. The coconut portfolio remained the key growth engine, supported by healthy consumer and trade traction. Volume growth was significantly ahead of revenue growth due to deflation in coconut prices. The company noted a tweak in the portfolio, with a revamp of selected brands and the launch of new products being piloted in select markets and channels. These initiatives aim to capture emerging consumer preferences and expand market share across urban and rural segments.
Shares of Bajaj Consumer Care closed 2.32% higher at ₹520.05 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday, 14 October, after the results were declared post‑market. As of that date, the company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹6,792.81 crore according to NSE data. The announcement was made after the market closed, and the company’s performance was highlighted in its investor presentation.
