SS Retail Shares Surge 18% as Q1FY27 Profit Soars 61% YoY

SS Retail shares surged more than 18% on Wednesday after the company announced its first quarterly results since listing. The mobile and electrical equipment retailer reported robust earnings for the quarter ended June 2026, with the share price hitting an intraday high of ₹790, up over 14% during the early morning session. The jump reflected investor enthusiasm for the company’s record‑high revenue, EBITDA and PAT growth.

Revenue for the quarter jumped 59% year‑on‑year to ₹789 crore, driven largely by a 34% same‑store sales growth that underscored healthy organic topline expansion. The increase was further supported by a higher average selling price on smartphones and continued store additions, which together amplified the company’s top‑line momentum. This performance aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its retail footprint and enhance customer experience across its network.

Operating earnings, measured as EBITDA, rose 51% year‑on‑year to ₹45 crore, yielding a 5.8% margin that slipped 31 basis points. The margin contraction was attributed to higher operating expenses incurred for new store openings during the quarter, reflecting the company’s investment in scaling its retail model. This investment is expected to support future revenue growth and improve operational efficiency over the coming years.

Net profit for the quarter surged 61% year‑on‑year to ₹23.8 crore, underscoring the company’s ability to translate top‑line growth into profitability. In a statement, Siddharth Shah, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, highlighted the milestone and reiterated plans to double revenue by FY28, targeting 750 stores and capitalising on India’s sizeable organised mobile retail opportunity.

SS Retail’s listing attracted a 50% premium, debuting at ₹639 per share against an issue price of ₹424 on the NSE. Following the listing, shares reached a record high of ₹880, nearly double the issue price, and have since become one of the most talked‑about IPOs. The recent earnings announcement has further amplified investor interest, driving the share price to new highs.
