Adani Green and Premier Energies Report Strong Capacity Growth and Order Inflows on Oct 12

Adani Green Energy shares were trading in the positive territory on Monday, October 12, after the company reported that its operational capacity increased by 24% year‑on‑year to 20,763 MW with a greenfield addition of 4,083 MW in the first half of the financial year 2026‑27. The stock was trading 0.32% higher at ₹1,259.80 apiece on the National Stock Exchange at 9:20 am. The capacity addition during the second quarter of FY27 was 621 MW, as stated in an exchange filing. Sale of Energy surged by 32% YoY at 25,747 million units in H1 of the current fiscal year, benefitting from strong capacity addition growth.

Premier Energies said it received orders totalling ₹4,001 crore in the July‑September quarter of the financial year 2026‑27. These orders are for a mix of solar cell and module supplies (total 2,308 MW) and EPC project execution, excluding orders from the retail market segment. The firm recently doubled its total module manufacturing capacity to 11.1 GW, while the solar cell manufacturing capacity surged to 10.6 GW from 3.6 GW after commissioning a 7 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing unit last month at Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh, according to an exchange filing. The stock was down 0.6% to ₹888.50 per unit on the NSE.

The firm also operationalised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity of 3,081 MWh in Gujarat's Khavda during Q2 FY27 in one of the world’s largest single‑location deployments, taking the total installed capacity to 6,632 MWh as of H1 FY27. AGEL’s 20,763 MW of operational portfolio powered more than 4.4 million homes and avoided 17.5 million tonnes of CO₂e emissions in H1 FY27, as stated in a regulatory filing. These figures underscore the company’s expanding renewable footprint and its contribution to carbon mitigation.

On the same day, Waaree Energies shares were trading with gains of 0.59% at ₹2,336.80, reflecting a modest lift as investors reacted to its latest quarterly results. NTPC Green Energy stock was up 0.16% to ₹92.75 per share, while Suzlon Energy shares were trading at ₹38.50, up 2.39%. These movements reflect the broader renewable energy sector’s activity on October 12, with each company’s performance influenced by its recent operational and financial disclosures.

Collectively, the October 12 trading session highlighted significant operational milestones for Adani Green Energy and Premier Energies, with both firms reporting substantial capacity expansions and robust order books. Adani Green’s 24% year‑on‑year capacity growth and 32% surge in energy sales underscored its market momentum, while Premier Energies’ ₹4,001 crore order inflow and doubled module capacity signalled strong demand for integrated solar solutions. The modest gains in Waaree, NTPC Green, and Suzlon stocks further illustrate investor focus on renewable energy performance. "Our growing order book is a strong validation of our growth strategy and execution ability. The Indian solar market is extremely demanding with customers looking for scale, bankability and latest technology. As India’s largest integrated solar manufacturer, we are ready to serve needs of customers across market segments," said Managing Director Chiranjeev Saluja in a regulatory filing.
