Adani Enterprises Shares Rise After ₹2,498 Crore Block Deal

Adani Enterprises shares rose after the opening bell on Friday, September 25, as investors focused on a ₹2,498.30 crore block deal during the morning window on the National Stock Exchange. The stock surged 1.3 % to touch an early market high of ₹2,937.60 per share, compared with ₹2,900 per share at the previous equity market close. This movement came amid a broader market rally, with several other Adani Group stocks also showing gains, and analysts noted that the block deal could signal institutional confidence in the company’s valuation.

Following the initial surge, Adani Enterprises stock retraced some of its early gains, hovering around ₹2,924 per share and registering a 0.83 % gain from the previous market close. Trading volumes during the morning session surpassed 137,000 equity shares across the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange combined, reflecting significant institutional activity. The slight pullback did not deter overall positive sentiment, as the share price remained above its 52‑week low and continued to attract buyers seeking value in the company’s strong fundamentals.

NSE website data showed that a block deal with a total value of ₹2,498.30 crore was recorded at Adani Enterprises during the Friday morning deals window, involving 86,00,000 or 86 lakh equity shares exchanged between an unnamed set of buyers and sellers. Further details, including the names of the buyer and seller and the weighted average trading price, are scheduled to be disclosed by the stock exchanges after market operating hours on September 25. A block deal is defined as a share purchase and sale transaction that holds a minimum value of ₹10 crore per trade during a single trading session on the stock exchanges.

Although retail investors are not eligible to take part in executing block deals due to the size of the transaction, traders still monitor the daily block deal updates that indicate any major movement of institutions buying or selling a stake in a particular company. The block deal mechanism allows large institutional investors to transact without causing significant price volatility, and the information released during the morning window provides market participants with early insight into institutional sentiment and potential price trends.

This week, Adani Group stocks were in the focus of investors after the capital markets regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), settled adjudication proceedings against five Adani group companies. The proceedings were over alleged violations related to the disclosure of related‑party transactions and audit as well as limited review reports, for which the group collectively paid ₹1.5 crore as a settlement amount. The official SEBI order showed that the settlement was for the alleged related‑party transactions and corporate governance issues highlighted in the Hindenburg report. Originally, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Adani Power, Adani Transmission, Adani Green Energy, Adani Total Gas, and Adani Wilmar were under scrutiny.

Adani Enterprises’ shares have delivered more than 105 % returns on their investment in the last five years, and over 20 % returns to investors in the last three‑year period. NSE data also showed that the company’s stock has risen 16 % in the past one‑year period. Although on a YTD basis, Adani Enterprises shares have risen over 28 % in 2026, the company’s stock is down 6.3 % in the past month and 3.5 % in the last five market sessions, as per the exchange data. Adani Enterprises’ shares touched a 52‑week high of ₹3,245 per share on July 6, 2026, while the 52‑week low was at ₹1,753 per share on March 3, 2026. The company’s market capitalisation was at ₹3.93 lakh crore as of the trading session on Friday, September 25, 2026.
