Westlife Foodworld Q2FY27 Earnings Drive Shares Above 8% Amid Robust Growth
Westlife Foodworld shares surged more than 8% on Friday after the company announced its Q2FY27 earnings. The stock opened at ₹535 per share on the NSE and climbed to an intraday high of ₹581, reflecting investor confidence in the robust quarterly performance. Following the rally, the shares turned positive for 2026 on a year‑to‑date basis, delivering a 3.5% return. Over the trailing twelve months, however, the shares remained in the red, trading at a -6.9% decline.
Revenue for the quarter ended September 2026 rose 16% year‑on‑year to ₹747 crore, up from ₹641 crore in the same period last year. The increase was largely driven by a 10.1% same‑store sales growth, supported by double‑digit growth in guest count. The company also highlighted that its value offerings, menu innovation and omnichannel convenience strategy contributed to broad‑based growth across channels and regions.
Operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) surged 29% year‑on‑year to ₹98.1 crore, compared with ₹75.9 crore in the same period last year. The EBITDA margin improved from 11.8% to 13.1% in Q2FY27, signalling stronger profitability. Profit after tax for the quarter stood at ₹9.1 crore, down from ₹36 crore in the previous year’s last quarter. Adjusting for an exceptional gain, net profit more than doubled from ₹4.2 crore in Q2FY26 to ₹9.1 crore in Q2FY27.
The company added 11 new restaurants during the quarter, bringing the total count to 492 stores across 80+ cities. This expansion reflects a broad‑based growth strategy that spans multiple channels and geographic regions, reinforcing the company’s market presence in west and south India where it operates McDonald’s outlets. The growth was supported by continued expansion of value‑priced menu items, innovative new dishes, and an omnichannel convenience model that integrates online ordering, delivery and in‑store pickup.
Amit Jatia, Chairperson of Westlife Foodworld Limited, said the results reflect the strength of the company’s strategy, disciplined execution and the enduring relevance of the McDonald’s brand. He added that strong guest growth, improving profitability and continued market expansion position the firm to capture significant opportunities, create long‑term value and strengthen its leadership in the industry. The shares’ performance, coupled with a 3.5% year‑to‑date return for 2026, underscores investor confidence despite a trailing‑twelve‑month decline of 6.9%.
