Torrent Pharma Q2 FY27 Profit Declines 10% YoY Amid Revenue Surge and EBITDA Growth

Torrent Pharmaceuticals reported its second‑quarter 2026‑27 results on Friday, 23 October, showing a 9.64% year‑on‑year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹534 crore. The company had posted ₹591 crore in the corresponding July‑September period a year earlier, as per a regulatory filing. Total revenue from operations rose 50.78% year‑on‑year to ₹4,979 crore, up from ₹3,302 crore in Q2 FY26, while total expenses increased to ₹4,222 crore from ₹2,471 crore a year earlier.

India revenue grew 20% year‑on‑year to ₹2,181 crore, and U.S. revenue increased 24% to ₹417 crore, reflecting a stronger overseas presence. Brazil revenue stood at ₹440 crore, up 38% year‑on‑year, whereas German market revenue fell 7% to ₹283 crore. These figures illustrate the company’s expanding footprint in emerging markets and the challenges in mature European markets.

Operational EBITDA climbed 53.8% year‑on‑year to ₹1,666 crore, up from ₹1,083 crore in Q2 FY26, and the EBITDA margin expanded by 70 basis points to 33.5% versus 32.8% a year earlier. The margin improvement was driven by cost efficiencies and a higher contribution from high‑margin products, offsetting the rise in operating expenses.

For the first half of FY27, Torrent reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,100 crore, down 3.42% year‑on‑year from ₹1,139 crore in the corresponding period of FY26. The company noted that rising expenses and a shift in revenue composition impacted profitability, and it is focusing on product diversification and cost optimisation for future growth.

Torrent Pharma shares closed 1.97% lower at ₹4,524.40 on the NSE on Friday, 23 October, after the results were announced. The stock has slipped 1% in the past week and 9% over the month, yet it has risen more than 17% year‑to‑date. It reached a 52‑week high of ₹5,250 on 3 August 2026 and a year‑low of ₹3,532.60 on 6 November 2026. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹1.72 lakh crore as of 23 October 2026. The article also referenced Shriram Finance’s Q2 results, noting a PAT rise of 59% to ₹3,677 crore, and JSW Steel’s Q2 FY27 results, with net profit jumping three‑fold to ₹5,279 crore.
