Tata Consumer Products Q2 Results: Net Profit Rises 16% YoY to ₹469 Crore; Margin Growth Remains Flat

Tata Consumer Products announced a 16 % rise in its consolidated net profit for the July‑to‑September quarter of FY27, bringing the figure to ₹469 crore from ₹404 crore in the same period a year earlier. The fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) company released the earnings report after market hours on Monday, October 26, 2026, placing its shares in the focus of equity market investors. While the profit growth was solid, the company’s margins remained under pressure due to elevated raw‑material costs.

The consolidated net profit attributable to owners surged 16 % YoY to ₹469 crore in the July‑to‑September quarter of FY27, compared with ₹404 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. This increase reflects the company’s ability to generate higher earnings despite cost pressures. The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) also improved, rising 16.5 % YoY to ₹783 crore from ₹672 crore a year earlier.

Revenue from core operations advanced 14 % YoY to ₹5,661 crore in the September quarter of FY27, up from ₹4,966 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. EBITDA margins expanded 31 basis points to 13.83 % in the September quarter, compared with 13.52 % a year earlier. Operating profit margins also grew, expanding 62 basis points to 11.13 % from 10.51 % a year earlier, indicating improved operating efficiency.

On Monday, October 26, 2026, Tata Consumer Products shares hit a 52‑week low of ₹916 apiece, after having reached a 52‑week high of ₹1,282.70 on May 12, 2026. The stock has delivered nearly 17 % returns over the last five years and over 7 % over the last three years, yet it has lost almost 19 % in the past year. Year‑to‑date, the share has fallen 20 % in 2026 and declined 4.7 % in the last month.

The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹92,685 crore as of the market close on Monday, October 26, 2026. Over the past five market sessions, the shares have lost 3 % of their value, while the one‑month decline of 4.7 % reflects recent volatility. Investors should note that the stock’s performance has been volatile, with a 20 % loss in 2026 and a 19 % decline over the last year, contrasting with the long‑term gains reported in the five‑year period.
