TARIL Shares Rise Over 7% After Announcing ₹1,250-Crore Greenfield Plant Investment

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) (TARIL) shares climbed as much as 7.4% to an intraday high of ₹321.85 on the National Stock Exchange on Tuesday, October 27, following the company’s announcement of a ₹1,250 crore investment to establish three greenfield manufacturing plants at its Chiyada complex in Gujarat. The regulatory filing detailed the planned production of Bushings (OIP, RIP & RIF up to 800 kV), pressboard and insulation materials, and Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC).

The new facilities will be housed under TARIL’s wholly owned consolidated ancillary subsidiary, giving the company full control over manufacturing quality, technology, procurement and long‑term strategic direction. Construction began in December 2025, with commercial operations expected to start in Q1 FY2027‑28. Once operational, the plants are projected to generate an annual revenue potential of about ₹2,000 crore and create more than 1,000 direct employment opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality assurance and research & development.

The Bushing manufacturing plant will produce Oil Impregnated Paper (OIP), Resin Impregnated Paper (RIP) and Resin Impregnated Fibre (RIF) bushings up to 800 kV, among the most technologically advanced components used in extra‑high‑voltage transformers. Together with the Pressboard & Insulation and CTC facilities, the plants will significantly strengthen TARIL’s vertically integrated manufacturing ecosystem and reinforce India’s capability to produce critical power equipment components domestically, the company said in a press release.

Jitendra Mamtora, Chairman of TARIL, said the investment aligns with India’s aspiration to become a developed nation by 2047, noting that a robust and future‑ready power infrastructure ecosystem is essential for every new transmission corridor, renewable energy project and industrial corridor. He added that the investment will strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities for critical transformer components, reduce import dependence and contribute to a resilient power infrastructure ecosystem built in India, for India and the world.

Satyen Mamtora, Managing Director & CEO of TARIL, described the investment as more than a capacity expansion, calling it a strategic move toward deep vertical integration. He said manufacturing Bushings, Pressboard & Insulation materials and CTC in‑house would provide greater control over quality, lead times and operational efficiency while improving supply chain resilience. Mamtora added that as India’s demand for transformers grows, the company is building an integrated manufacturing platform to support the country’s evolving power infrastructure needs and create sustainable long‑term value for customers, shareholders and the nation.

At 11:55 AM, TARIL’s stock traded at ₹316.15 per equity share, up 5.49%. The scrip has fallen 3% in the past week but gained 14% over the month. Year‑to‑date, it has risen 3%. The shares hit a 52‑week high of ₹481.40 on October 27, 2025, and touched a year‑low of ₹224.05 on February 2, 2026. As of October 27, 2026, TARIL’s market capitalisation stood at ₹9,473.23 crore on the NSE.
