Godrej Consumer Products Q2 Profits Rise 14% to ₹523 Crore Amid Margin Pressure
Godrej Consumer Products posted steady growth in Q2 profits, while the margins remained under pressure due to the elevated raw material costs in the September quarter. The company reported a 14% year‑on‑year rise in net profits for the July‑to‑September quarter of FY27, reaching ₹523 crore compared with ₹459 crore in the same quarter of FY26.
Revenue from core operations surged 19% to ₹4,413 crore in the September quarter, compared with ₹3,708 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, underscoring robust sales growth. However, the company’s overall expenses rose, largely driven by higher raw material costs, which applied downward pressure on margin expansion during the period under review overall in FY27.
The board also declared a ₹5 per share interim dividend for the financial year 2026‑27, amounting to 500% on equity shares of face value ₹1 each. Eligible shareholders will receive ₹5 per share for every share they own, up to one day ahead of the pre‑determined record date. The record date is Wednesday, November 4, 2026, and the dividend will be paid on or before Friday, November 27, 2026.
Despite the healthy revenue gains, the company’s overall rise in expenses due to the elevated raw material costs added downward pressure on the margin growth in the period under review. The elevated costs impacted the gross and operating margins, limiting the company’s ability to translate higher sales into proportionate profit increases during the July‑to‑September quarter in FY27.
Overall, Godrej Consumer Products demonstrated solid profit growth in FY27’s second quarter, with net earnings rising 14% to ₹523 crore and sales climbing 19% to ₹4,413 crore. Nonetheless, rising raw material costs exerted pressure on margins, preventing a commensurate increase in profitability. The ₹5 per share interim dividend reflects the board’s confidence in the company’s cash flow, while shareholders can expect payment by November 27, 2026.
