Varun Beverages Q3 Net Profit Up 14% on 33% Revenue Rise, Declares ₹0.50 Interim Dividend
Varun Beverages reported a consolidated net profit of ₹828 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up 14 % from ₹728 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations rose 33 % to ₹6,816 crore, compared with ₹5,112 crore a year earlier. The jump was driven by strong volume growth in India and in international territories. The company’s operating profit, or EBITDA, increased 25 % to ₹1,427 crore from ₹1,140 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The operating profit margin contracted to 20.94 % from 22.30 % in the same quarter last year.
Varun Beverages attributed the contraction of its EBITDA margin to higher packaging material costs, including preforms, shrink films, closures and cans, which were driven by geopolitical disruptions. The company also noted that higher sales of non‑beverage products such as preforms and caps in India, which rose 104 % during the quarter, carried a higher cost of goods sold and impacted gross margins by about 100 basis points in India. These factors combined to reduce the overall margin despite the rise in operating profit. The company remains focused on maintaining profitability while expanding its product portfolio.
For the nine months ended 2026, Varun Beverages recorded a 23.3 % year‑on‑year increase in revenue, reaching ₹21,814.55 crore. EBITDA rose 19.9 % to ₹5,274.58 crore, and profit after tax increased 15.5 % to ₹3,202.30 crore. The company follows a January‑to‑December fiscal year. These figures reflect the company’s continued growth trajectory across its core markets and ancillary businesses. During this period, the operating profit margin fell from 22.30 % to 20.94 %, reflecting the impact of higher input costs. The company continues to invest in distribution and manufacturing to support future growth.
Varun Beverages’ board of directors declared a third interim dividend of ₹0.50 per equity share of face value ₹2 for the financial year 2026. The record date for determining eligible shareholders is set for 5 November 2026, with the dividend payment scheduled for 7 November 2026. This dividend represents a modest return relative to the company’s earnings, aligning with its strategy of balancing shareholder rewards and reinvestment. The dividend follows the company’s policy of returning value to shareholders while maintaining a focus on long‑term growth.
Consolidated sales volume rose 28.7 % to 354.4 million cases in Q3 CY26 from 275.3 million cases in Q3 CY25, driven by 22.5 % volume growth in India and 39.9 % in international territories. Beverage realisation per case improved by 2.2 % at the consolidated level, supported by a 0.5 % increase in India due to growth in high‑value categories and the launch of premium ranges such as Ad Rush and Evervess mixers. Executive Vice Chairman Varun Jaipuria said the company’s extensive distribution network, expanded manufacturing capacities and chilling infrastructure investments underpinned the volume growth. Following the earnings release, shares traded at ₹402.15 on the NSE, down 3.05 %.
