Jupiter Wagons shares rise 4.5% on securing ₹324 crore orders for ACT2 wagon platform

Jupiter Wagons shares jumped as much 4.5% to touch an intraday high of 190.11 apiece on Monday, November 2, as the firm secured two orders from Chetak International and GATX India. Worth 324 crore, the company has received a Letter of Intent from GATX India Private Limited and Chetak International Private Limited, both for its new-design ACT2 wagon platform. The order from GATX India includes the manufacturing and supply of 10 rakes of ACT2 wagons, comprising 270 ACT2 wagons. The Letter of Intent is valued at 214.94 crore. Separately, Jupiter Wagons received an order from Chetak International for the manufacturing and supply of five rakes of ACT2 wagons, comprising 135 ACT2. The order is valued at 109.10 crore.

The company on Monday stated that these wins reinforce the growing traction for Jupiter Wagons' new-design ACT2 platform among private wagon-leasing and logistics operators. These wins reflect the confidence that private wagon-leasing and logistics operators place in our new-design ACT2 platform and in our ability to deliver at scale. As India moves a greater share of its freight to rail, we are seeing strong, broad-based demand across both the Indian Railways programme and the private sector, said Vivek Lohia, Managing Director, Jupiter Wagons. The orders came alongside strong momentum in the company's Indian Railways business, including its 1,140 crore order from the Ministry of Railways for 2,583 wagons, giving Jupiter Wagons a diversified and resilient order book balanced across government and private sector demand. A balanced order book across government and private customers gives us healthy visibility and a resilient foundation for growth, and we remain focused on executing with the discipline and quality our customers expect, Lohia added.

The firm further said that these orders demonstrate its deepening traction with private sector customers and reinforce its position as a preferred manufacturing partner for specialised, high-capacity wagon platforms. Last month, Jupiter Wagons had said that it expects incremental order inflows of approximately 2,000 crore in Q4 FY27. At 1:36 PM, Jupiter Wagons shares were trading at 187.57 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, gaining 3.19%. From the beginning of the year, Jupiter Wagons shares have declined 44%. Over a month's time, the stock has fallen 16%, while for a six-month period, it has slipped 35%.
