Raymond Shares Rise as Company Expands into Aircraft Structures Segment
Raymond Group shares climbed 1.7 % to ₹1,137 on Wednesday, September 23, after the company announced it was expanding its aerospace capabilities. The lift came as the firm’s subsidiary, JK Maini Global Aerospace, won a tender from an Indian aerospace and defence OEM to assemble wing and centre‑fuselage structures for a major indigenous fighter aircraft programme. The move marks Raymond’s entry into the aircraft‑structures vertical, broadening its reach from precision manufacturing to complex, higher‑value aircraft assemblies for future growth.
JK Maini Global Aerospace’s win places Raymond in a high‑value aircraft‑structures segment while keeping capital efficiency intact. The tender, conducted by a leading Indian aerospace and defence company, will see the subsidiary assemble wing and centre‑fuselage structures for a flagship fighter programme. By leveraging the customer’s existing infrastructure, Raymond can develop the required capability and establish execution credentials without heavy capital outlay. This strategic move also positions the group for participation in larger aerospace programmes both in India and globally.
Group CFO Rakesh Tiwary said the company will focus on execution excellence and building this capability into a scalable growth platform. He added that the opportunity is strategically much larger than its immediate business potential, providing an entry into high‑value aircraft structures while maintaining capital efficiency. Tiwary highlighted that the project will help establish critical execution credentials that could position Raymond’s subsidiaries for future participation in larger aerospace programmes in India and globally.
In a regulatory filing, Raymond noted that the programme will leverage the customer’s existing infrastructure, enabling the firm to develop capability and establish execution credentials while maintaining a capital‑efficient approach. The company currently operates two core engineering businesses—Aerospace and Defence, and Tools and Auto Components. Its engineering arm has moved into sunrise sectors of aerospace and defence, supplying EV components to both international and domestic markets. Raymond also commands a leadership position in manufacturing files and hand tools, with a significant presence in national and international markets.
Raymond’s share price has surged 162 % since the beginning of the year, with a 77 % rise over the past month and a 221 % jump in the last six months. The stock hit a 52‑week high of ₹1,193.40 on September 22, 2026, and a 52‑week low of ₹320 on March 30, 2026. As of September 23, 2026, the company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹7,433.96 crore according to NSE data. In the afternoon session, the shares dipped slightly, trading at ₹1,116.65 at 2:40 PM, a marginal fall of 0.03 %.
